- Subject: DIR command hangs in DOS box under Win3.1
-
- I'm using FTP Software's version 2.2. When doing a dir
- command on a networked drive in a DOS box under Windows 3.1,
- the system hangs.
-
- Note, FileManager access to the same network drive works fine.
- I can copy files back and forth with no problems. There are
- also no problems outside of Windows. All other FTP commands
- seem to work fine.
-
- Suggestions?

- Windows emulation is *NOT* a function of the hardware. PowerPC is only a
- reference to the CPU that is in the computer. It sounds like you have been
- tasked to discover why the *PowerMAC* is inadequate for someones needs. A very
- strange request if you ask me. A better approach would be to define what the
- person needs to do with the computer, then find the appropriate hardware and
- operating system that is suited to task.
-
- In any case, this may be a better discussion for comp.os.[insert OS here].
- alt.winsock is for the discussion of the WINSOCK api for tcpip connectivity.
